Just a very quick message- live! – from the rehearsal rooms of Pellegrini Opera’s upcoming production of Tosca. Everything thing is looking and sounding amazing for this opera, which will be on stage next week – Friday 10th and Saturday 11th March. Maria Knapik, in the title role, is sounding stellar, as is the perfectly cast Cavaradossi, Steeve Michaud. Anyone who saw Jeffrey Carl’s Rigoletto in last spring’s production will know how wonderful he is going to be as the evil Baron Scarpia. Under the artistic direction of veteran Vincent Thomas and one of Canada’s leading conductors, Michel Brousseau this will be a great introductory opera to anyone seeking their first experience of this beautiful art form, and is a very accomplished rendering of Puccini’s classic for those who want to see this opera again (or for the 20th time!)
And if all that doesn’t sell it on you, I will be playing a priest!
Okay – time for my close up! More notes this week!
